Dr. Ruchi Karsalia was born and raised in Central New Jersey. Staying true to her New Jersey roots, she attended Rutgers University where she completed a bachelor’s degree in economics and went on to New Jersey Medical School to obtain her medical degree. During her medical school training, she traveled to Peru to provide medical services for rural communities and worked with the underserved patients in Newark, NJ which inspired her to enhance women’s health both locally and abroad. Throughout residency training, Dr. Karsalia participated in community education and outreach programs, led the residency wellness program, developed a strong skill set in obstetric and gynecologic surgery while navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her efforts culminated in recognition for laparoscopic surgical skills and medical student teaching upon completion of residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She finds it important to provide a safe space and advocate for her patients to provide the comprehensive care they need. Dr. Karsalia’s clinical interests include family planning, contraception, PCOS, minimally invasive surgery, general and high-risk obstetrical care. She is fluent in Gujarati and proficient in Spanish.
